Message from the Dean

What would you do if you or a loved one suddenly had a high fever or experienced severe pain? Without hesitation, you would rush to the hospital. At that time, the first thing that is important is to diagnose the disease quickly and accurately. Under the direction of a doctor, a laboratory technician will take blood samples, perform abdominal and cardiac echocardiography, and if necessary, perform various tests such as electrocardiography to help scientifically diagnose the disease. It is a great joy to discover lesions with their knowledge and skills. Many patients are saved by the skills of clinical laboratory technicians. The Faculty of Medical Science is a new faculty opened in April 2020 with the aim of fostering clinical laboratory technicians who can contribute to the new era of medicine. Diseases are changing drastically along with changes in social structure such as low birthrate, aging society, and globalization. In addition to medicine and biology, the development of computer science has led to remarkable advances in testing equipment. In these times, the opportunities for clinical laboratory technicians with scientific thinking and solid testing skills are expanding. In the Faculty of Medical Sciences, we have gathered experts who have gained various experiences in education, clinical practice, and research. We will train our students to pass the national examinations and nurture clinical laboratory technicians who can respond to medical advances and make patients happy with their skills, in accordance with our founding spirit of "fostering human resources who can contribute to the nation and society.
